You are being asked to join a research study. Participation in this study is voluntary. Even if you decide to join now, you can change your mind later.
This study is designed to help us better understand what members of the public think about biocomputers, an emerging biotechnology that combines human brain cells with traditional computers. This study was designed by researchers at Johns Hopkins University to improve our understanding of public views toward this area of scientific research.
This survey will help to ensure that the research community is informed about the public’s views toward biocomputers as advances and potential applications are explored. People who are 18 years or older may join. Demographic questions are being asked to understand your responses better and ensure a diverse range of voices are included in this study.
This study has been reviewed by an Institutional Review Board (IRB), a group of people that reviews human research studies. The IRB can help you if you have questions about your rights as a research participant or if you have other questions, concerns or complaints about this research study. You may contact the IRB at 410-516-6580 or hirb@jhu.edu.
